When the seasons change, I always have to control my urge to shop. It is like I develop a shopping virus that can only be cured if I update my entire wardrobe. I am sure I am not the only one with this seasonal affliction….right?? I know I can think of a few friends who suffer along with me and no, I won’t reveal names to protect the innocent. Fall season is always the worst for me. September fashion magazine issues are always thicker and full of the latest fall styles. And, being completely over the hot, humid Atlanta weather, the fall catalogues from Anthropologie, J. Crew, Nordstrom, etc. make me daydream about crisp autumn weather and the sound of leaves crunching under my feet as I walk around in awesome boots. That being said, I am all kinds of excited about the new Missoni for Target line that hits stores in a couple of weeks. While I have banned myself from any further Fall fashion procurement….I think I may have to make a few exceptions. I mean really, it’s for a limited time!!! Watch the preview, you’ll fall in love.

I went, I shopped, I only bought two things??
London conquered Target. The Liberty of London collection arrived this past Sunday and by the afternoon the shelves were bare in every department-accessories, home, garden, you name it. The shelves were so sad with the picked over remains. I obviously did not get there in time to witness the full explosion of color and patterns, choosing to visit the Scott Antique Market first. The oh so cute bike I wanted…SOLD OUT!! In the stores and online. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. All of the daydreams I had of me cruising along through the Freedom Park trail in the warm spring sun…crushed! Guess I will have to get a plain, ordinary bike now.
But alas, all was not lost. After visiting two different Targets, I did end up with a very cute shift dress for work and a pair of gardening gloves.
If you go online today, there are still a few items left. But the two items I purchased are now sold out. And thus ends, my Liberty of London at Target adventure.
Liberty of London Coming to Target
In March, you will find me wide-eyed and trying to control my spending at Target.
Liberty of London , an iconic British brand known for its bold patterns, has collaborated with Target on a Home Collection that I am very excited about. The photo shows a sample of a few of the items that will be featured at Target and I think I have to have the bike. Seriously, how disgustingly cute. And, I am not even a girly girl but I sure am a sucker for bright bohemian inspired paisley and floral patterns.
The lamp is killing me with its cuteness too but I just learned how to update my own lampshades in the latest issue of Nesting Newbies, one of the newest online home design magazines to come out since the demise of my much-loved Domino magazine. In the winter issue, there is a step-by-step guide on how to cover your own lamp shades with a cool, hip fabric that looks so easy I think I can do it. And just so you know, this is coming from someone who got a sewing machine over a year ago that is collecting dust because I cannot follow the “simple” diagrams and directions to figure out how to thread it which is absolutely ridiculous. Anyway, enough about my sewing ineptitude. Got to get back to plotting out my Target shopping trip…
